Addressing the challenges of maintaining healthy and sustainable school environments, Boston Public Schools -- with the oldest school buildings in the United States -- faced significant operational and financial hurdles when the pandemic struck.

At the K12 Facilities Forum, Teresa Neff-Webster, BPS Deputy Chief of Operations, and Katherine Walsh, Program Director of Sustainability, Energy & Environment at the district, shared their experiences and best practices in implementing an internationally recognized Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Monitoring Initiative and supplementary districtwide sustainability initiatives.

Neff-Webster and Walsh also discussed strategies for securing and sustaining funding and support to ensure that critical investments in healthy school environments remain in place and continue to evolve, adapting to the changing needs of students, staff, and the community.
